Scrip Order Due Tuesday Night, August 2nd

Band Families,

The next Scrip gift card order will be placed on Wednesday 8/3.  Please email me your order by 8/2 to dembinskig@msn.com, or see me at the Parent meeting on 8/2.  Let me know the gift card retailer, denomination and quantity.  Remember, money earned goes directly into your student’s band account.

Scrip is running a back to school sale through 8/5, so there are a number of retailers offering bonus rebates.  A few examples:
Old Navy/Gap rebate is 19% instead of usual 14%
ITunes rebate is 10% instead of usual 5%
Chilis/Macaroni Grill rebate is 16% instead of usual 11%

Marching Band Uniforms

Hello Band Moms!

Marching Band uniform fittings will take place during rehearsals next week, Monday through Friday, 5:30-8pm.  We still need a few more volunteers so that all the kids can be fitted before camp.  Especially for freshmen moms, it would be exciting to help out and see your son or daughter in the uniform for the first time!  If you can help one or more days next week, please contact Miyuki Dembinski, contact information is below.  Any amount of help is appreciated.

This Monday – Marching Band Begins

Marching band practice begins this Monday 5:00 – 8:30 p.m. at GEISLER. You must have your physical paperwork turned in before practice.

This Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. is a parent meeting to review marching band camp. Please arrive at 7:30 if you have not turned in all paperwork.

Returning students – try on your dinkles. Do they fit? Do you need to order a new pair? If so, bring your dinkles to practice and see Mrs. Dembinski.

Volunteers – Please Complete These Forms

Hi Everyone –
Thank you for signing up to help at band camp!  It’s going to be a great week – let’s just hope for good weather!
Water’s Edge Camp, as well as the Walled Lake School District, requires volunteers that will be directly involved with kids to complete forms for background checks.  The camp also has a couple of additional forms for us to complete.  You will find these forms attached to this email – please complete them and return to me as soon as possible.  You can scan / email, mail, drop off at my house or I can meet you somewhere to get them.

August 25th – WLW Marching Band at the Big House

This August 25th, our marching band will be performing at the University of Michigan football stadium for the WLW football game. The WLW Football Boosters have extended the offer, to our band, to pre-order t-shirts. If interested, download the form below and mail to the address stated. Orders must be received by August 1st. WLW Marching Band Camp Volunteers

We are looking for Marching Band parents, friends, family to help out at Band Camp.  Please consider spending some time with the kids at camp – it is a lot of fun!

Camp is Sunday, August 7th – Friday August 12th at Water’s Edge in Howell.  We need afternoon help, evening help, food donations, and our biggest need ….. overnight chaperones. 

Once you have signed up to volunteer, you will be contacted to discuss the details of your ‘assignment.’    We can also answer any questions at the parent meeting on Tuesday Aug 2nd at 8:00 PM (this is a mandatory meeting).

If you are unable to volunteer your time, but would like to donate money to help cover the cost of the evening snacks, please email dembinskig@msn.com.

Roxanne Barry, Cindy Easter and Edie Fitzpatrick  will be the full time chaperones this year.

Band Camp Physicals

Marching Band Kids – We need your physical!  It has to be completed and signed by a doctor, dated after 4/15/16. If you will be taking prescription medications at band camp, we also need the med forms signed by a doctor.  This paperwork can be turned in to Edie Fitzpatrick (fitzveros@yahoo.com).  You can also bring your signed physical to the first rehearsal on August 1st.
