Deaths in Our Band Family

Please keep our band friends (past and present) in your hearts and prayers:

Mr. Ed Glenn passed away last week.  His funeral was last Friday.  Mr. Glenn is the husband to Mrs. Cindy Glenn our current Band Booster Secretary and father to Sharon (graduated last year) and Hanna (who is a junior this year).

Mrs. Karen Smith (Band Booster Alum) and WLW Student Jarrod Smith (just finished his freshman year) also passed away last week in an auto accident. Mr. Jeff Smith (husband and father), Kaitlyn and Jessalyn (both daughters and sisters – also graduates of WLW) are the surviving members of the family.  Both girls were involved with the band program while attending WLW.

On behalf of all the Walled Lake Western Bands, we express our most sincere condolences to both families and friends of the families.

2014 Print Your Marching Band Show Music Now!

Hello WLW 2014 Marching Band Families!

Below is the link (provided by Mr. Dudzinski) to access all the music needed for this season.

Please have your child print out the music and start getting familiar with it before pre-camp starts on July 28th! The music does not have to be memorized before camp – but some practice ahead of time would be a good idea!

We are going to have a great show!

WLW Marching Band Camp Volunteers

We are looking for Marching Band parents, friends, family to help out at Band Camp.  Please consider spending some time with the kids at camp – it is a lot of fun!

Camp is Sunday, August 4th – Friday August 9th at Water’s Edge in Howell.  We need afternoon help, evening help, food donations, and our biggest need ….. overnight chaperones.

Once you have signed up to volunteer, you will be contacted to discuss the details of your ‘assignment.’

At this time, please sign up for no more than 2 slots so that everyone gets a chance to participate.

If you are unable to volunteer your time, but would like to donate some money to help cover the cost of the evening snacks, please email me.

Linda Nielsen, Edie Fitzpatrick and Mary Nordstrom will be the full time chaperones this year.

Thank you in advance for your help.  It takes many volunteers to make Band Camp run smoothly!  If you have questions, please contact Edie Fitzpatrick at 248 669-4592 or fitzveros@yahoo.com.
